Flash back to circa 1984, suburbs of Chicago, IL. First day I brought home the 1968 bug. Bone stock, 2 owner car, originally from Denver. The guy used it to
haul firewood on the backseat. Lucky me, it even came with a 2nd engine.

Putting in new floors the poor man's way, pop rivets, galvanized panels and fiberglass. Looks ugly but held for 15 years!

Painted, Silver is the best color for a bug! love it, moved from IL to NM soon after.

Very 1st engine rebuild. It was a major event for me. Out went the worn out 1500cc single port, in went the 1600cc dual port,,,feel the power of 55hp!

Chrome Jackman 8 spokes, circa 1989. A major upgrade over painted black stock rims. Had these a long time, they held up well.

Circa 1998. A major upgrade to 2" wider fiberglass fenders, fiberglass hood and widened fiberglass running boards. cant find a pic right now, will update later, then I repainted it silver again.

Circa 2005. Fast forward again, another move, this time to Ohio. Type IV into type I engine conversion, 2.0 liter type IV engine installed in my 1968 bug.
