Thermostats for Porsche 356, 912 and 914
These stats are made specifically for the needs of the Porsche 356, 912 and 914.
The 912 is a little odd, as it uses the 356 stat in the early years and the 914 stat in the later years.
The 356 thermostat is used to control warm air flowing up to the carb air cleaner area, based on ambient temp around the engine.
The 914 stat is used to control flaps that duct cooling air to the oil cooler and the cylinders, based on hot air coming off the cylinders.
Although they look the same, you can not use a typical VW thermostat on these engines, the opening temps are wrong for these cars.
All thermostats come with a two year warranty.
